Stratus is an integrated GPS system that combines a 12-channel, L1 GPS receiver, antenna and batteries in one lightweight enclosure (1.8 lb/0.8 kg with batteries). Single-button operation and LED display offer a full range of operational information. Perform static and kinematic applications without switching equipment. And when utilized with Stratus Controller software, you'll experience versatility in the field and office.

Sokkia's Stratus surveying system packs simplicity, accuracy, and reliability into one fully integrated system . Simply stated, Stratus is a lightweight, yet powerful tool with a practical price tag. Stratus features a complete L1, 12-channel GPS receiver that uses less than 1 watt of power to operate. The Stratus system comes with Spectrum Survey software that includes planning, processing, and adjustment software. It also includes a handheld controller with an easy-to-read display. It also includes an integrated GPS Antenna Technology, capable of maintaining a stable phase center and blocking multipath.

The Stratus Controller runs on Pocket PCs and is a very useful tool to view current receiver status, enabling you to easily enter site/antenna information, and set receiver parameters quickly and conveniently.

The essence of the Stratus system is simplicity – it's simple to learn and simple to operate . Spectrum Survey Suite post-processing software makes it simple to produce high-quality results. Spectrum Survey allows you to manage, process, and adjust GPS data with an interactive, graphical user interface (GUI). An automated workflow is designed to guide a beginner through the processing and adjustment functions, while advanced controls and in-depth data analysis tools are available for experts. Blunder detection tools provide a warning to potential errors. The Network Adjustment module can make rigorous modifications to your collected data, while its Planning module provides satellite visibility and geometry information to determine the best locations and conditions for data collection.

The Stratus system is intended surveyors who need access to GPS surveying, but require an affordable price. The attributes that enable Stratus to excel in this particular market are its affordability and simplicity. It is intended for surveyors who have not been exposed to GPS technology because of its complexity or because of its high price.

Stratus is ideal for high accuracy, centimeter-level applications, such as control and boundary surveying, particularly as the complement to traditional surveying instruments. Stratus is targeted as a stand-alone measuring solution, or as a complement to traditional surveying instruments. Those individuals who use traditional instruments to bring control to a local project site can realize a return on investment very quickly because of the productivity and the low cost of the Stratus system. With the kinematic survey option, Stratus can be used in topographic applications and as-built surveys.
